About LankaRank

LankaRank (lankarank.lk) is a free SEO and Google Maps check for Sri Lankan small businesses. It tells an owner, in plain English, what stops customers from finding them on Google and getting in touch, and what to fix first. It's run by Afdhel Munaj in Sri Lanka.

Why we built it

Popular SEO tools are built for large American and European websites. They don't know how people in Sri Lanka search or contact a business, and they can't show an owner how their business compares with other Sri Lankan businesses. Agency audits usually lead to a monthly package costing tens of thousands of rupees.

To see what Sri Lankan business websites actually get wrong, we checked 2,061 of them, listed in four business directories. About 2 in 5 didn't work at all, and most of the working ones were missing basics that matter to customers here, such as a WhatsApp button. The free check is built around those findings, and any owner can run it in about a minute. Read the study.

How we keep it honest

• Every number has a source. Our own figures come from that study; anything borrowed names the study it comes from.
• We test the checker. We compared it with a real Chrome browser on 50 random Sri Lankan business websites: 906 of 918 results matched, and we fixed what didn't.
• No guarantees. No one can promise a place on Google, and we never will. We fix what stops Google and customers from understanding your business.
• No guessed losses. We don't know your visitor numbers, so we never tell you how many rupees you're losing.
• Your site, untouched. We only read public pages, the way any visitor would. We never ask for passwords.

LankaRankBot

LankaRankBot is the checker behind every report. It reads only what a report needs: your homepage, the Contact page it links to, and the files Google itself reads, such as robots.txt and the sitemap. It never logs in, fills in forms or changes anything.

How we make money

The check is free, and so is the walk-through of your most important fix. Owners who want more help can take the Growth Plan (Rs 4,490 a month: a guide for every fix and a monthly re-check), have us make every fix (Rs 29,900 a month), or have us build a simple website (Rs 14,900 one-off). Your report is the same whether or not you buy anything.
